Mere Gardening Club is the data controller responsible for your personal data and for the website (www.meregardenclub.org.uk).
Please keep us informed if your personal data changes while you are a member of the Club.  We do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

The Club website may include links to third-party websites. Clicking on those links may allow third parties to collect or share data about you.  We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements.

How we use your personal data

We will use your personal data as follows (on the lawful basis stated in brackets):

  • to process any enquiry you make and to communicate with you in connection therewith (performance of contract)
  • to send you regular updates by email about Club (necessary for the legitimate interests of the Club).

The data we collect about you, its security and retention

We collect, process and store the following personal data about you as a member of the Club:

  • name, home address, email address and telephone numbers
  • your communication preferences in relation to our regular email updates
  • your willingness to help at Mere Gardening Club Events

We do not collect any special categories of personal data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data), nor any information about criminal convictions and offences.

We will never share your personal data with anyone other than those Gardening Club volunteers who need to collect, process and store your personal data in accordance with this privacy policy.

Your legal rights

You have certain rights under data protection laws to:

  • request access to your personal data
  • request correction of your personal data
  • request erasure of your personal data
  • object to processing of your personal data
